Penners, like Reid?

Poyet was the one player that shone according to those that went.

You would think he is unlikely to start ahead of Kouyate or Noble especially in a home game. Might fit in a 4-2-3-1 defensive formation that seems to be in vogue for some these days when on the road. Like Switzerland did in the WC with Behrami and another geezer, who's name escapes me, who sat deep in front of the back four making it very hard for teams to break them down. That just might appeal to Uncle Sam? ;-)

Penners

Um I think you'll find we were scouting him for aaaaaages before the World Cup but just decided not to buy him cheaply and instead give pachuca loads of money for him

Surely we have to stick with pretty much the side that played Crystal Palace?

I think Poyet did himself a lot of favours in midweek so he'll be pushing for the first team soon.

I just wonder what Sam will do with Valencia, you don't spend £12m on someone and not play them

I'd go for that hearney son, in a 4-2-3-1 formation though

Re: Have any of the team that started Tuesday done enough to start against Southampton?
Valencia looked terrible in my opinion. I know it's early days, but that fact that he wasn't deemed fit enough to start the season, couple with the fact he struggled against league 1 defender, doesn't bode well.

Could end up like a typical, rash, post World Cup buy.

Spanish Beer

Vaz Te did enough to not start.

Re: Have any of the team that started Tuesday done enough to start against Southampton?
Poyet seems to have made an impression, but perhaps not enough to displace kouyate. I still don't think Valencia is fit, I reckon we should do the whole cole/borriello thing and tell them both they will get 45 minutes and run their bollocks off

That aside, how about Burke? Can he handle long, so to speak?

Cole will start because he is Carlton the Unflushable

Reid also started.

I think Sakho did enough but am I right in thinking he has a knock?
